Missing big names! Italy announces the provisional 30 before Euro 2024 (List)
Luciano Spalletti

Ciro Immobile, Manuel Locatelli and Marco Verratti are among the big names missing from Italy's provisional Euro 2024 squad.

Just 10 players who helped the Blues win Euro 2020 three years ago have been included in Luciano Spalletti's 30-man squad, which will be cut to 26 names after friendlies against Turkey and Bosnia-Herzegovina in early June.

Immobile was part of Spalletti's first team for Italy last September but has missed out on a place in Germany after scoring just seven goals in Serie A this season.

Verratti joined Immobile at the start of Italy's Euro 2020 final victory over England, but he always looked unlikely to feature this year after leaving Paris Saint-Germain for Qatari side Al-Arabi.

Last September, it was reported that Verratti turned down a call-up for Italy's first two Euro 2024 qualifiers under Spalletti to complete his move to Qatar.

Locatelli is also banned, but Juventus team-mate Nicolo Fagioli is included after serving a seven-month ban for breaching Italian gambling rules.

Italy is in a group with Croatia, Spain and Albania.
