Messi crosses in France: What do we pay him for, to score against teams like
Messi in the match against Bayern

Jerome Rothen, the former French midfielder who represented Paris Saint-Germain between 2004 and 2009, has been heavily critical of Lionel Messi following the team's Champions League exit.

"We don't want him, he has to leave PSG. He does not want to invest in the club. I read some of his statements in which he said: "I am well acclimatized".. but, acclimated to what, my dear? Score 18 goals and provide 16 assists against Angers and Clermont? In important matches, he completely disappears," said Rothen in a statement for RMC radio, before analyzing the performance of the Argentine "star":

"It's a joke because we saw his matches at the World Cup, we all saw the way he tried. The national team shirt is one thing, but you have to respect the club that allows you to keep a status and that pays a big salary.

Only PSG can give him that. Now, PSG has come down to earth because they thought that Messi would help us win the Champions League and, at the end of the day, it doesn't help to win absolutely anything."

After losing at home, with a score of 0-1, PSG said goodbye to the Champions League with a new 0-2 defeat against Bayern, in Munich.
