Liverpool midfielder Luis Diaz is going through a real nightmare. His parents were kidnapped in Colombia by gunmen. The authorities announced that they were able to save his mother, but his father remains missing.

President Gustavo Petro said Cilenis Marulanda was rescued by police in the town of Barrancas.

"We continue the search for his father," he said on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Police Director General William Salamanca said he is using every agent to find Diaz's father.

The parents of the 26-year-old Colombian were kidnapped while driving home. They stopped at a gas station when later some gunmen on motorcycles approached and abducted them.
