Didier Deschamps

With a "bunker" defense and perfect from 11-meter distance, 5 out of 5 accurate penalties, France "flew" to the semi-finals, where they find Spain, another super challenge that this European has in store.

Against Portugal, as they have done so far in this European, Deschamps' team simply defended, while in the attacking phase they did very little.

Portugal did not shine either, making regular time and extra time end with a score of 0-0, deciding the fate of this meeting from the "roulette" of penalties, where only Joao Felix made a mistake.

It sounds unbelievable, but France go to the semi-finals with 3 goals scored in total, 2 own goals and a penalty from Kylian Mbappe, but this matters little to Deschamps: "It was a difficult match against a very strong team, they can we won in regular time. We have to have fun, we're in the semi-finals. It's a source of pride for my players, for me too, we succeeded even though we weren't perfect, we don't give up. Mbappe? He asked for the substitution just before penalties. He is always honest with me and the band. He has back problems, plus the blow to the nose, he is really very tired ", said Deschamps after the match.

This was the last European for two legends like Ronaldo and Pepe, while coach Martinez is proud of what his team gave on the field: "It's a sad moment, as the players gave everything, showed the values of Portuguese football. It's sad because our fans deserved to be happy, but we leave with our heads held high," said Roberto Martinez.
