The script for this final chapter in the negotiations has been closely followed by both Real Madrid, who wanted to avoid any minimal irregularities that could give PSG reason to protest to UEFA and FIFA, and the player , aware that after what happened in May 2022, he had to "come to terms" with the leaders of the Madrid club and above all with the white fans.

In the first days of January, as soon as his contract entered the last six months of its duration, Real Madrid contacted Mbappe's representatives to find out if the plan agreed in May last year was still valid and there were no changes .

The answer was positive. When 8 months ago he informed the Parisian club by letter that he was giving up the exercise of the third optional season in his contract, Mbappe had already made a firm decision: his destination would be Real Madrid.

After sorting out some financial concepts, the French striker will arrive as the highest paid in the squad, based on his unofficial status as the best player in the world, but on a salary not far off Los Blancos' top earners. , who are Kroos, Modric and Alaba.

Sources close to the negotiations put him on a pay scale of between €15m and €20m net per year, plus goal bonuses over the five years of the contract, following the type of contractual relationship that Real Madrid usually offer their players in " meters", but this point has not been confirmed by "MARCA".
