A strange news circulated all over the online media this Tuesday afternoon. Lulzim Basha was appointed by the Committee for Political Affairs and Democracy in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe as "rapporteur on the confiscation of Russian assets and their use to repair the damage caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine".

All members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe are obliged to complete an annual "conflict of interest" form. Lapsi.al has secured the document submitted by Lulzim Basha to this organization on February 7 of this year.

What stands out is that at that time Basha declared himself to the Europeans as "Chairman of the Democratic Party" even though he had already resigned on March 21, 2022. In point 2 of the document, in addition to saying that he is the chairman of the PD- Basha says that this is a "permanent" task and that he is paid 12,000 euros per year. In public at that time, Enkelejd Alibeaj was the one who appeared on screen after screen declaring that "Basha had resigned from the leadership of the party and that he was the one who the chairman commanded".

Officially, Basha returned for a fourth term, this time as chairman of the "Vula DP" only on July 29 through a so-called "one member, one vote" process.
