Presidency of the Assembly

The next day in the Assembly, the special anti-corruption commission is expected to be established, an initiative of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

The Special Commission will consist of 11 members, of which 6 are representatives of the parliamentary majority and 5 of the opposition, although until now, the opposition has declared its position against this commission.

According to the draft decision, this commission will develop its activity in a 10-month time frame. In case of need, with a reasoned request of the commission, the Assembly can decide to extend the deadline for exercising the commission's activity.

"In order to maintain the majority-minority ratio in accordance with the regulation, the effective use of the experience created since the beginning of the Reform in Justice, as well as ensuring the continuity of the work and the products of this process beyond the current legislature and throughout the scope of negotiations with the European Union , the commission as a rule will consist of Chairmen and Deputy Chairmen of the Permanent Commissions: for Legal Affairs, Public Administration and Human Rights (2) for Economy and Finance (2); for European Affairs (2); for Education and Public Information Means (2); and the National Council of European Integration (2)", the draft decision states.

Currently, it is rumored that the socialist deputy, Fatmir Xhafaj, will be in charge of this anti-corruption commission.
