Former Minister of Justice and one of the most engaged public voices after leaving active politics, Ylli Manjani calls on the Democratic Party to demand a halt to the vote recount process.
A process that she herself actually requested to denounce the electoral farce.
However, as is evident from the transparent process taking place in the Complaints and Sanctions Commission, Democratic candidates have stolen votes from each other.
Ylli Manjani considers this process a total disaster and says that it does not help the political space at all, which requires a different opinion from that of the government. According to the former minister, there is no longer any interest in what is "buried" in the ballot boxes, especially when it harms the opposition itself.
They were hoping for more votes, the Dibra ballot boxes are being recounted: The numbers "bury" the Democratic candidates.
Ylli Manjani's reaction:
I believe it is clear that the so-called recount only cements power.
The opposition has already lost whatever little cause it might have had over the irregular electoral process. It's even worse when it turns out that its candidates stole votes from each other.
A total disaster, to be honest, which does not help the political space at all, which requires a different opinion from that of the government. If I were the DP, I would stop this degrading process to the point of pain.
Now that the beach has begun, even transparency has no meaning. There seems to be no interest in what is "buried" in the ballot boxes. In fact, what KAS is doing as an exhumation process resembles... But the dead do not rise again... At least here in our lands, no dead person has risen to this day...
