Prime Minister Edi Rama has continued the advisory meetings regarding the limitation of the TikTok social network.
From the "Halit Coka" school in Kamez, Rama made a comparison with this platform in China, where it originated.
According to him, in China, TikTok teaches children how to read or how to solve exercises, while in our country the opposite happens.
Rama says that TikTok creates addiction in children like a drug, giving them more food depending on their appetite.
' We are inclined to believe - said the prime minister - that the complete blocking of tik tok would be a way, even for a period, of what others will do and to remove a very bad friend from the hands of children ".
"If we talk about TikTok, the problem is that in our country it is based on an algorithm that stimulates all those things that should not be stimulated. While TikTok in China, which is its country of origin, is completely different. There, children are shown beautiful things on the screen, how to read, how to solve exercises, etc. While in our world it is completely different. That is why a big debate has arisen in many countries that these networks should be taken under control, at least for those up to the age of 16.
Some administrative measures have been taken, but there are no technological mechanisms to set filters and separate who can use it and who can't. It is known that social networks accept anonymity and when this is accepted nothing is clear. We are studying all aspects.
We are inclined to believe that blocking tik tok completely would be a way if only for a period of what others will do and to take a very bad friend out of the hands of children and have some more control over that moment when they go in for those mazes.
"What everyone needs to understand is that these networks are built like sinkholes and they feed everyone more based on what they click on or see there. They have the same effect that drugs have, they make people addicted to the screen because they give them more food depending on their appetite ," said Rama.
