US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Prime Minister Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama has welcomed the American Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, to Albania during the meeting he is having with young people at Piramida.

"Many of the owners of this pyramid would like to be here, but the protocol of the State Department did not allow them. On behalf of all Albanians, I welcome you and as our 500-year-old law says, "Albanian's home belongs to God and friend".

Welcome to Albania my friend, we are not as big as other countries, but we are the first for our dedication and we are not as boring as other countries are", said Rama.

For his part, Bliken expressed his gratitude for the hospitality that was reserved for him in, as he said, the country of eagles, while he did not spare a few good words for Prime Minister Edi Rama, whom he called an "outstanding leader".

"Good afternoon and thank you for the wonderful reception in the country of eagles. I can't explain to you how grateful I am. The Prime Minister is a good Prime Minister and an outstanding leader. Today in the streets of Tirana I saw energy, optimism for the future. Last year a record number of tourists visited Albania, your football team qualified for the second time, I will probably come during the final of the European Cup and maybe I will help you", said Blinken.
