Even though it's been exactly two weeks since TikTok was officially shut down in the country, it seems that many users have found a way to access it again. VPNs have allowed them to navigate the platform even after the government's firm decision.
Prime Minister Edi Rama launched his "Sy m'Sy" column today with this phenomenon. He asked citizens for patience until the prestigious company comes up with a plan for security in Albania and warned them about VPNs.
"It is widely known that through free VPNs, hackers are notorious for stealing phone data. Keep this in mind! Be patient without TikTok for a while, until we complete the joint program with the company, which will soon come to Albania with the presentation of the safety plan for children and adolescents," said Rama.
-VPN (Virtual Private Network) has been used massively in recent years to enable faster communication between branches of certain companies, which are in different locations.
