In the Municipality of Tepelena, these partial elections for the new mayor also come with a novelty.

The innovation in this municipality is the use of Artificial Intelligence for the vote counting process - this is a pilot project by the Central Election Commission (CEC).

It is learned that this will be an experimental process and the result resulting from the use of Artificial Intelligence will not be taken into account.

However, the result from it will serve as the basis for how other elections will proceed.

Thus, in the Tepelena Municipality there will be two counting processes, the traditional one and the one enabled by Artificial Intelligence.

Meanwhile, the voting process there has already begun normally after the necessary quorum was met.
