Prime Minister Edi Rama started the day today with an invitation to all Albanians living abroad to register for the elections on May 11th.
Rama has published a part of his speech at the National Youth Assembly, where, among other things, he asks the diaspora to vote for the SP, because as he says, anyone who thinks that this party raised Albania's head in Europe and the world should register without wasting time.
The Prime Minister says that voting for the Socialist Party is the only way to build a modern Albanian state. Rama called on them not to leave it until the last day, but to go to the CEC website, online, and register.
"If, in 100 days from now, the votes of Albanians in Albania will be added for the first time to the votes of Albanians in Europe and the world, this will mean that we fought, we endured, but in the end we did what we promised, and whoever among them thinks that we raised Albania's head in Europe and the world should register without wasting time so that with their vote for the Socialist Party, they can invest in further increasing the prestige of this country and make it possible for today's children to be proud and equal citizens among equals in the united European family," Rama said.
Meanwhile, the head of government has chosen to bring back a part of his speech where he refers to the opposition as a swamp of frogs led by a swamp owl. Rama emphasizes that a vote taken elsewhere is like a stone thrown into the water.
"Whoever is following us from abroad at this moment should keep in mind that the deadline for voter registration from where they are is March 4th, don't leave it for the last day, but go to the CEC website and register to vote on May 11th and never doubt it: a vote sent elsewhere is a stone thrown into the water, into the swamp of a frog opposition, which is led by a swamp owl," said Rama.
For the first time, the diaspora will also vote in the 2025 parliamentary elections.
