Prime Minister Edi Rama delivered his speech at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
During his speech, Rama said that Kosovo is an inseparable part of the international reality, as he added that it cannot be held hostage by anyone with false excuses, and for this reason, it started from the group of 5 EU member states that they do not know the state of Kosovo.
"Our sister Republic of Kosovo is an irreversible reality as a state among the 6 countries of the Western Balkans with a clear European perspective and an indisputable alliance of the great community of countries. Any artificially drawn parallels between Kosovo and the occupied areas of Ukraine are intended to distract everyone possible in this building and the entire international public opinion, but they will never succeed in dimming the truth that Kosovo is an inseparable part of international reality, an aspiring member of the Euro-Atlantic community and should not be held hostage by anyone with false excuses starting from the group of 5 EU member countries that still do not recognize the country of Kosovo in any organization or international forum ", said Edi Rama.
At the UN Assembly, Prime Minister Rama said that today more than ever we need tolerance and peace.
"Our times are challenging. A few days ago we saw the future pact. We have done few such pacts in the past. A few days ago we pledged against the pact for the future. We have undertaken such commitments in the past, we have not always kept them. We paid the price. This is another chance we get to make a difference for a peace. Albania joins this discussion. We were meant to represent that community that sticks together. Today more than ever we need tolerance and trust. By tolerance I do not mean complacency, it requires us to go beyond our comfort zones, to tolerate with respect, not simply accepting the other's points of view", said Rama.
