The first annual cycle of international culture weeks in Tirana started with France, a new initiative of the Albanian government that will create new spaces of acquaintance and communication with other countries and cultures every year.

In his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama described as a beautiful coincidence that the opening of this program started with France, a day after President Emmanuel Macron was reconfirmed at the head of this country. For the Prime Minister, Macron is not only the President of France, but also one of the supporting pillars of the entire EU architecture.

Rama said that today he felt happy and relieved by yesterday's result in France, which according to him, is a guarantee for the European perspective of the entire region.

"France is the one who opens this program, a beautiful coincidence makes us here today after a day marked in the contemporary history of France, with the confirmation of President Emmanuel Macron, who is at the same time not only President of France, but also one of the supporting pillars of all EU architecture. For this reason today we are happy and relieved by yesterday's result in France, which is a guarantee for the European perspective of our entire region, including Albania.

As for the program, among other things Rama said that “this calendar touches European countries, countries outside it, touches all those countries that are on the map of our diplomatic relations and of course, of course, all those countries that want to be part of this series of culture weeks ”.
