This time, Prime Minister Edi Rama has invited the medical staff of QSUT, who participated in his operation to remove appendicitis, to his podcast 'Flasim'. They also focused on the challenges of the health system, as well as the changes that have undergone in these 8 years during the Rama government.

During the conversation with the doctors, one of them, surgeon Arben Beqiri, said that the fact that Prime Minister Edi Rama chose to be operated on in the public system and above all, according to him, the fact that he chose surgeons representing another political force is a sign of emancipation.

The doctors say that they have operated on many public figures, ministers and deputy ministers, but all in private and this was the first time that a person with such a high position operated in the public system.

Rama: I am here together with 5 men who entered my body. For a single person, privilege for the position I hold or is it a practice that is similar for ordinary people as well?

Arben Beqiri: The diseases are different, but the patients are the same.

Rama: Before you left, you came to bed and shook my hand and told me, we have operated a lot, ministers, deputy ministers, but unfortunately until now only in private hospitals.

Arben Beqiri: The fact that you chose the Albanian public system, among other things, you chose surgeons who represented another political force, shows that in fact this is a form of emancipation or increased confidence.

Rama: I was lying down when prof. Gjata came and said we have a former health minister with us.

On April 17, Prime Minister Edi Rama performed an emergency surgical intervention in the early hours of the morning to remove appendicitis, which was a successful intervention. The head of the government was diagnosed with acute appendicitis.
