Rama: We will open a new airport opposite Corfu, it will be seasonal!
Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama, during a press conference at the Tourism Fair in Berlin, announced that a new airport will open at the southern tip of Albania.

Rama said that it will be opposite Corfu and that it will only serve during the summer season.

"We also have an airport in the North and are planning a fourth one at the southernmost tip, practically opposite Corfu. There is overcrowding at Corfu airport and we have seen the need for a small seasonal airport ," said the head of government.

Rama : First, we will soon open a new airport that will be managed by Munich Airport.

The capital's airport is the fastest growing in Europe, and it is overcrowded.

The new airport that we will open this year is further south and practically responds to the needs of tourists heading towards the Ionian Sea and parts of the south. Likewise, where luxury and 5-star resorts are to be developed.

We also have an airport in the North and are planning a fourth one at the southernmost tip, practically opposite Corfu. There is overcrowding at Corfu airport and we have seen the need for a small seasonal airport.

We have many airlines that have come and will come. We are in talks with the Federal Aviation Administration of America for direct flights.

I hope we will have Qatar Ways soon. We have flights from the Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

We have a fairly cheap airport. Years ago it was expensive.
