The National Council of the Democratic Party has decided today that the primaries for the selection of candidates for deputies will be held at the district level.
By majority vote, the DP National Council has decided that political delegates in the districts will not be part of the primaries. The Council has also approved the regulation of the primaries.
Speaking to the media at the end of the meeting, the chairman of the DP National Council, Edi Paloka, also clarified the debates during the meeting.
"The date of March 1st has been set by decision of the presidency.
There were discussions for over two hours. With 10 votes against, the regulation was approved. There were opinions that might not be developed due to time, and conflicts and dissatisfaction could arise, which were discussed several times. These proposals were clarified.
"Doctor Berisha was adamant that the primaries be held. In the end, the result showed that in the end, the proposals that were to make such changes did not win," said, among other things, Edi Paloka.
