During the press conference, Adriatik Lapaj made strong accusations against Endrit Shabani, after the clash between them, which started over who would take the only mandate won by the "Shqipëria Initiative Takes Place on May 11" coalition.
According to Lapaj, Shabani and his uncle, Zeqir Kordhoni, are demanding that the deputy's mandate be transferred to Edi Rama and that the latter increase his mandate to 84 in the Assembly.
He added that it happens along the way that someone goes crazy, sells out, and betrays.
Lapaj further stated that the polls showed that Endrit Shabani and Nisma Thurje did not even have 0.2% of the votes, but said that he formed a coalition with them for the sake of it.
Lapaj also announced that Shabani has asked him to lead the coalition for two years, run for the Municipality of Tirana, and a fund of 30 million lek to lead the coalition for two years.
Lapaj: We campaigned throughout Albania, it was Endri Shabani who campaigned in Tirana, he could have received many more votes, but that's his problem.
He asked us to run for the Municipality of Tirana and I told him to think carefully and if he decides I will support him. He asked to lead the coalition for the next two years and 30 million lek per year as coalition leader. I told him that if the coalition continues, it will function with the lek that the CEC brings. These were requests made during the past month and I told him: to complete the first agreement made. He was not told "No" to these requests.
He called on Shabani to communicate regarding this clash.
Lapaj: Mr. Shabani is not a political colleague for me, he is a friend who is causing great damage with this kind of behavior together with his uncle. This saddens me. Shabani must come here and we must give Albania the commitment we have undertaken. Kordhoni has submitted a request to run, they have different signatures, if they want to implement the agreement.
Shabani should come here and we give Albania the commitment we have taken on, the open lists. Shabani should come today and I am ready to resign and Kleana Xhuveli will take the mandate.
