Prime Minister Edi Rama, at his end-of-year press conference, spoke about positive economic growth. He focused on the increase in salaries and pensions.

According to the head of government, in the last quarter the average salary was 833 euros, while starting from January 2026 the minimum salary will be 500 euros.

Rama said that the pension increase that begins in January is beyond indexation.

According to him, the urban pension with full years of work will increase by 18 thousand old lek per month from January 2026 and thus will continue to double, triple, and quadruple year after year.

The partial urban pension will increase by 8 thousand lek per month, the rural pension by 1 thousand lek per month, the family pension will increase by 700 lek per month and the disability pension will increase by 600 lek per month.

Rama: While new businesses have increased by 20%, foreign investments in the third quarter have increased by over 10%. The stock of foreign investments is significant and higher by over 10% compared to the previous year.

The average salary has resulted in 833 euros, which is a significant increase. In a few days, the law on the 500 euro salary will come into force.

Starting in October of this year, pension indexation has been completed. With the start of the new year, the sustainable increase in pensions will begin through a support that will double, triple, quadruple, and quintuple year after year.

Starting in January, pensions will increase beyond indexation. The increase we will make will be significant year after year.

Thus, the urban pension with full years of work will increase by 18 thousand old lek per month. It will double in January 2027, triple in January 2028, quadruple in January 2029, and so on.

"The disability pension will increase by 600 lek per month," Rama said.
