While the electoral campaign for the local elections on May 14 is going on in every city, the residents of Izvor, in the Municipality of Memaliaj, seem to be in another era.

The movement of these residents continues to be done with animals, while other basic services are missing or leave something to be desired.

About 1200 inhabitants of this village live in scandalous conditions. No roads, no water, no electricity and no support. They say that they don't expect anything from these elections, even that no one tries to come to ask for votes.

" We only work with donkeys, there is nothing else. We get our drinking water from some source. They should not come for elections, we have lived with these. We live because we cannot die. They should not come at all because they made us we run away at night. That's what these people are ," say the residents.

Disillusioned over the decades, these residents seem to be calmer and at peace with their nature, which seems to forgive them more than the local government that takes their taxes and promises with an empty spoon./A2
