Voting in Himare for mayor has started normally.
At 07:10 the residents of Himare village started to vote in the voting center at the Greek school in Himare. They waited until the polling station was opened.
Vangjel Tavo of the Socialist Party and Petro Gjikuria of the opposition are competing for the post of Mayor of Himara.
The two candidates will face each other "head to head", as today's elections are expected to return calm to Himare after the saga that started in 2023 with the arrest of Fredi Beleri and then the acting president, Jorgo Goro.
There are 36 voting centers in Himara, where the distribution of election materials was completed, according to the announcement of the head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi. 52 policemen will be in the respective voting centers for the smooth running of the situation.
