The vote counting for parties and candidates is officially closed, who are the 140 new MPs who will enter the Assembly?

The counting of the preferential vote of the diaspora in the Olympic Park officially closes with the last ballot box of the Elbasan district.

After 9 days of counting, the process was closed and the names of the 140 new MPs who will form the Assembly in September are now being revealed.

The counting of ballot boxes in this district did not bring any change in the ranking of winning candidates for any political entity.

The Socialist Party received 83 mandates nationwide, thus bringing to the Assembly 46 deputies from the closed list and 37 deputies from the open list.

Of the 83 legislators, 34 are female deputies and 48 are male deputies.

Meanwhile, the Socialist Party (SP) is bringing a new generation to the Assembly, with 53 of the names being elected as MPs for the first time, while 30 of them have previously held the position of MP.

Meanwhile, the DP with its allies suffered a deep defeat, shrinking to 50 seats, with 43 MPs elected from the closed list and only 7 from the open list.

In total, the DP-ASHM has 13 female MPs and 37 male MPs.

Only 14 opposition MPs are entering the Assembly for the first time, while the other 36 seats are reserved for Sali Berisha's loyalists and his allies, who for the sake of the coalition, left the leader of the Democrat Party 8 safe seats on the lists.

Although the Electoral Code theoretically provided for 2/3 of the open lists, as expected, more than 2/3 of the legislators entered from the lists fixed by the mayors. 95 deputies emerge from the closed lists and only 45 from the preferential vote.

Of these, 37 are from the Socialist Party, only 7 from the Democratic Party and 1 mandate from the "Shqipëria Bëhet" coalition.

The Social Democrats have managed to win 3 MPs, returning their leader, Tom Doshin, to parliament.

Agron Shehaj's "Mundësia" secured 2 mandates, who left the ranks of the DP and created his own party as a disappointed democrat. The youth coalition "Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet" secured 1 mandate, and Arlind Qori's Lëvizja Bashkë, which ran alone, secured 1 mandate.

Tirana District

The SP won 19 mandates in the Tirana district, the PD-ASHM 13 mandates, one mandate each for Tom Doshi's PSD, Adriatik Lapaj's Nisma Shqipëria Bëhet, and Arlind Qori's Lëvizja Bëhet. While Agron Shehaj's Mundësia Party won 2 mandates in the capital.
