Albanian Parliament deepens scandal, denies publication of "Vote PS"

The Albanian Parliament denies having violated the law by becoming part of the electoral campaign, following a post published on its official Facebook page calling for votes for the Socialist Party.

According to reports, the post appeared on the official Facebook page of the Albanian Parliament, where it remained for about 5 minutes before being deleted.

It was previously thought that this could have been a mistake by the website administrators, but the Parliament reacted by implying that something like this did not happen at all.

Regarding this post, several opposition party MPs declared that they have filed a complaint with the CEC.

The Assembly of Albania is an inclusive pluralist democratic institution, representative of the will of the people and of all political forces.

We clarify to the public opinion that the services of the Assembly, while exercising their duties, are based on the principles of professionalism and impartiality.

The Parliament of Albania guarantees public opinion that its administration and services, website and social networks have not been and will not be involved in any way or form in the parliamentary election campaign.
