The Democratic Party of Lulzim Basha has called on SPAK to start investigations into the way of financing the tower behind the Opera and Ballet Theater and to reveal the truth about this strategic investment.
The spokeswoman of the Democratic Party, Mirela Karabina, recalled the request submitted by the blue headquarters regarding the financing of the tower in the center of Tirana.
She said that "Follow the money" is the best scheme to dismantle dirty money, with which, according to her, constructions, politics, and vote-buying are financed.
"The Democratic Party submitted last week to SPAK a request to investigate the financing of the tower behind the Opera and Ballet Theater (TOB).
All international reports in recent years describe the construction sector in Tirana as the biggest money launderer of organized crime.
It is no coincidence that a seemingly modest company has taken the lion's share in the constructions that have become part of and are being developed in the capital.
The Democratic Party once again asks SPAK to start investigations to find out the truth about this giant investment, but also about other things in the capital.
And in this battle against corruption, the Democratic Party unreservedly supports the investigation by SPAK of constructions with the dirty money of crime and corruption in the main links of government.
"Follow the money" is the best scheme to dismantle the dirty money with which constructions, politics, vote buying and many other services are already available to the Rama Government are financed.
Therefore, Vetting in politics and adopting an aggressive package against crime and corruption of senior politicians, punishing them for corruption and confiscating assets is a vital necessity for the country's development fortunes.
Clearing up and bringing to justice the creators and implementers of money laundering schemes is a great service rendered to Albanian citizens," declared Karabina.
