Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku , surprised with an unusual statement in an interview with the media, where she said that she missed the debates she used to hold in the Assembly with Arben Ahmetaj.

Many will think it's a joke, but that's what Tabaku himself claims, while commenting on the current political situation in the country.

"While Arben Ahmetaj was the way he was, in every session we had a debate about the economy. It doesn't matter that the economy is in this situation today because of the government, but what is important is that the opposition will be there to demand accountability, to create transparency, but also to make its proposals. I believe a lot in the power of speech, in the power of debate, but also in parliament as an institution," said Tabaku.

Hearing an opposition MP speak with a kind of nostalgia about a former minister accused of corruption is undoubtedly a rare occurrence in Albanian politics.

Even more so when it comes to Arben Ahmetaj, one of the emblematic and most talked about figures for corrupt connections, and today officially on the run.

This statement by Tabaku gives more weight to the words that she had a secret agreement with Ahmetaj, and her public "causes" for concessions seem to have clearly been guided by the former Deputy Prime Minister.
