Prime Minister Edi Rama did not spare countless thanks to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during a joint conference in Ankara.
Rama said that Erdogan "won the bet with the Albanians", as he managed to build the new Fier hospital in record time.
The head of the Albanian government also said that the Albanians of Albania and Kosovo "will not forget three moments" of Turkey's help, the recognition of Kosovo's independence, the help for the earthquake and the pandemic in Albania.
"I can't help clarifying that we have not bet for the hospital because betting in Turkey is prohibited by law, while in Albania only online betting is allowed." That hospital was built and you won the bet with the Albanians. That being said, I want to publicly thank you for your hospitality. Albanians, Albania, Kosovo cannot forget three things, the first is thanks to you and your government, Kosovo was recognized as an Independent Republic, after its parliament declared independence.
Second, when Albania was hit by an earthquake, you were the first to communicate with me, you told me that as long as Turkey is, Albania will never be alone. The start of vaccination in Europe, if it wasn't for Turkey, and you personally, who knows how many people would have lost their lives. These are three moments that can never be forgotten", declared Rama.
