Fredi Beleri and journalist Sidorela Gjoni

Fredi Beleri was this morning on "Alxpiëria Live" on Top Channel where he spoke about the latest developments.

Asked if he represents Greeks or Albanians in the European Parliament, he said: Fredi Beleri was elected by New Democracy, you should know that he received 245,000 votes, 60-70 votes belonged to Albanians with dual citizenship or dual nationality. I represent the Greek citizens there, I am one of the 21 Greek MPs, but this does not stop me from expressing my opinions and helping my homeland, because I have half my life here. I have not hidden it, everyone knows that I was born in Albania!

During the interview, he was also asked about the meeting in Tirana, when he stated that the door of the Assembly was closed. He said that he was only a minute late, while regarding the planned meeting with Edi Rama, he said that he has no idea why it was not held.

" As for the situation in front of the Assembly, I went a minute late because the traffic lights caught me. The attack with eggs and yogurt... In the most guarded place in the republic, outside the assembly, it could also be a coincidence. All politicians have their share of citizens who sometimes, legally or not, express their hatred. I don't know the citizen, it was scripted. A meeting was planned with Rama, I don't know why it didn't happen ," he said.

When asked if there is something from the past that he regrets, Beleri said: There are many things that a person regrets, but the things that have gone can't be taken back. I don't regret the things you say, 'murderer, terrorist,' because they are not true.

Will he run again for the municipality of Himara?

" I don't want to give up, I expect to go to Strasbourg, and if you grant me innocence, I will certainly come back to run ," he said.
