The new law for AMA is discussed, Majko: These podcasts we listen to, Rama,

The Committee for Legal Affairs took place this Tuesday, where former minister Pandeli Majko spoke on the podcast of Prime Minister Edi Rama and former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.

Majko asked the AMA if these podcasts will be regulated by the new audiovisual media law.

Excerpts from the discussion:

Pandeli Majko :  I have a question for the AMA representatives. The question may sound like irony, but the changes coming today are related to audio-visual media service providers. These podcasts we're listening to. Rama will create his own podcast and so will Mr. Berisha.

Are these regulated by this law? Are they under the regulation of this legislation that we are discussing today?

I have the impression that the influence of social networks is creating some free so-called economic zones and here we are discussing to control some licensed media at a time when the media market has been re-dimensioned.

Does the AMA have the power to intervene, or are statutory regulations needed? My question is is this fixed?

Representative: It's about platforms, not individuals. They are video sharing platforms.
