Mayor Erion Veliaj has spoken publicly about the attack on Top Channel.

Invited to the show "Zone Zero" on Top News, Veliaj stated that this attack is not an insignificant incident, or a "cicmic", but at the moment when someone is ready to burn a car that costs more than 6 euro figures , means that someone high up is worried.

And I have the impression that big and small, from the President, the Speaker of the Assembly, the Prime Minister, the Mayor to every ordinary citizen who has connected his memories with Albania, with free speech with Top Channel, not only for the part of entertainment but also for the part of information and big debates. Top Channel is like a member of the family of every Albanian. It is the first open television that brought those first particles of the West, and today one of the most avant-garde projects in Albania. Therefore, a blow to Top Channel is a blow to every Albanian citizen. But especially here in Tirana, where Topi is based and every journalist works. So I feel really sorry but also motivated to seek justice and to encourage every prosecutor to deal with a really serious case that is not a routine blackmail or bullying, not that they should be allowed but where a national television is hit, of course the attention should be bigger. Clearly this is not a conflict, or cicmic, a trivial incident.
