Bardhi for Criminal Amnesty: Act without procedure and joint draft. DP continues

In a statement to the media, the head of the DP parliamentary group Gazment Bardhi thanked the citizens who participated in yesterday's protest.

He focused on several issues, from the Rama-Meloni agreement for immigrants, for which he is against, to the establishment of a subcommittee by the majority.

"I want to thank all the citizens who joined the grand protest of the opposition as a clear message that citizens react to bad governance. I wish that the participation transmitted with such a citizen will be heard by the majority by stopping the arrogance, giving up the oppressive acts and reflecting on work for their benefit. Secondly, I want to make a comment regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court on the Rama-Meloni agreement on immigrants. Expressing regret that the GJK did not rise to the level of public opinion, I want to consider it as an act of national treason. Filling Albania with immigrants endangering public safety, and putting it on the map of countries that violate constitutional rights, was a blow in relation to the respect and guarantee that this institution should give.

I condemn the intervention of the Prime Minister's cabinet in particular members of the court and express regret for those who swore on the Constitution and then returned to the service of the government. Thirdly, I definitely want to reconfirm today's decision of the PD group to continue our action in Parliament until our legitimate demands are met, firstly the establishment of transparency commissions and secondly to advance the electoral reform. Finally, I want to express on behalf of the group the concern about an attempt by the majority, to set up a subcommittee entitled Subcommittee for Parliamentary Audit, which aims to take control of the KLSH. To give up this attempt to any independent constitutional institution is unprecedented."

Asked whether he will vote on the Criminal Amnesty law tomorrow, Bardhi emphasized that there was no transparent procedure and no joint draft for this act. As a result, according to him, the action of the opposition in the Assembly follows...

"Which amnesty?! It has turned into a completely non-transparent act. Where everyone adds and removes according to their interest away from the public's attention, we have been in an action within the Assembly for months and this action will continue. In principle, Amnesty is an act of the Assembly of Albania, it will have to stay away from the shenanigans of Albanian politics, it has always been a consensual act, but there was no procedure to come up with a joint draft and offer voting. In this topic, I want to dismiss with disdain some news sponsored by the SP, with the production of fake broadcasts on false premises, as if colleagues within the DP have demanded the repeal of the article related to the decisions of GJKKO. It is a proposal of Plarent Ndreca, the youngest member of parliament, who should have been the subject of GJKKO and SPAK. Yesterday, the law was not voted on in the Laws Commission by any member of the DP", said Bardhi .
