The former General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, has asked Ilir Meta to apologize to the Albanians and especially the democrats before taking a stand against the current government and Prime Minister Ilir Meta.

According to Bardhi, Meta has a contribution in empowering Rama and bringing and keeping him in power. He has stated that Ilir Meta has been empowered during the governance of the Democratic Party and all the power he received he surprisingly transferred to the lap of Edi Rama.

"Every opposition factor that is in battle with Edi Rama's regime will have to be united in the battle against the regime. This is not a union, but I would call it cooperation because then we are divided in principles, in standards, etc. As for the Freedom Party, Mr. Meta, before taking his position today regarding the government or Prime Minister Edi Rama, will have to apologize to the Albanians, but especially to the democrats, for having played a role, an inherent contribution in the strengthening of Edi Rama, in the behavior of him in power and in keeping him in power.
