Interior Minister Taulant Balla paid a visit to Saranda today, where the center of the discussions were environmental crimes and illegal construction.
Starting from the last two unlicensed constructions discovered in Ksamil, Balla has called for "exemplar punishment" and is stressed that everything must be done to prevent the situation from repeating indefattly.
He has also called for new roles for prefects and sub-prefects, saying he will seek legal change in parliament.
"Protect Saranda, europe's Maldives, at all costs, from any form of environmental crime. Let us never allow the mistakes of the past to be repeated. That unlicensed construction that appeared two days ago should put us all on alert. How is it possible?
It requires immediate restoration and an immediate return to the previous state. I want a new role of the institution of the Prefect and The Sub-Prefect in the territory and very soon we will be moving legal changes to the Convention for this purpose. You need to coordinate task forces against the phenomenon of fire-setting," Balla said among other things.
