Greek MEP and former elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, spoke about the results of the May 11 parliamentary elections.
Beleri has stated that even if "Saint Cosmas" were to stand in front of him, he would still not be able to defeat Edi Rama's regime. According to him, the DP bodies must do something to end this tyranny, even by resigning.
Beleri expressed his confidence that Berisha, as a man with experience in politics, will make the right decision.
"As minorities and Orthodox, we have Saint Cosmas, in whom we believe a lot. We say that even Saint Cosmas, if he were to face Mr. Rama's regime, would lose. The DP bodies must do something to end this tyranny, why not resign. By clarifying that the problem in these elections was not Berisha, Mr. Berisha was privileged. Everything must be done to stop this situation. The hemorrhage of minds must be stopped. Why are these people fleeing, from uncertainty? Socrates said that the most valuable thing is the human mind, minds are fleeing Albania, who will do it, the pensioners or the administration employees who are in a hurry. Mr. Berisha is the most experienced man in Albanian politics and I am convinced that he will do what is right." - said Beleri in an interview for MCN.
He added that the main reasons for the election results are what the OSCE-ODIHR says, state interference in the elections, massive vote buying. Beleri said that the opposition should look within itself and try to sensitize the international factor to the regime, stating that there is no question that the elections were stolen.
Regarding Friday's protest, Fredi Beleri said that it has no value. He added that the opposition should not expect LaCivita, any German or Greek, to solve their problems.
