Immediately after the news of the arrest of Ilir Meta for money laundering and the issue of lobbying, as well as the imposition of a compulsory appearance measure against her, came the reaction of Monika Kryemadhi.

As she calls Meta "the father of my children" and not her husband, she describes it as "another attack on justice against the Albanian opposition" and as "news served by government propaganda".

Kryemadhi, in her post on FB, denied knowing about the security measure and that "as soon as it is announced, it will respond with legal and public steps".

Monika Kryemadhi:

Dear journalists for whom I have a lot of respect and who today are reporting news served by government propaganda about the next attacks of justice against the Albanian opposition.

I have not yet heard of a court order that would place security measures on me or the father of my children.

As soon as I am informed about these judicial decisions, I will respond with all legal and public steps.

Persecution by justice as a weapon against the political opponent, as well as the public trial that is being done to us, does not stop the opposition in uncompromising battles to protect the public interest.

Starting from the Incinerators and ending with every other just battle we are fighting for the Albanians.
