EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato commented on the attacks of the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, against SPAK.

Gonzato said that the EU has never maintained a double standard.

The EU has condemned the attacks on justice against the head of SPAK. Meanwhile, Rama attacked. Why do you react to attacks from Meta and not from Rama?

Gonzato: There are no double standards. Support for the justice system is unwavering, but the message is the same and constant. We place a high priority on judicial reform and we must let it do its job. We do not comment on investigations but you know our support for SPAK.

I support the work of this institution. The rule of law, the fight against corruption, are part of the fundamental chapters of the EU that will be opened first and will be closed last. I have full faith in SPAK, we continue working with the Municipality, for green transport, schools, etc.
