Argita Malltezi, the daughter of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, revealed tonight that in 2017, she received an offer to be at the head of the Democratic Party.
According to her, she rejected something like that, as she says that PD cannot be a party where the position of the chairman is inherited.
"In 2017, I had a request to be the leader of the Democratic Party. But I didn't want to be gossiped about, that I, as Berisha's daughter, inherited the position of DP chairman. The Democratic Party will be won by competition. The position of the mayor will not be inherited, this will not happen", said Argita Malltezi on Syri Tv.
"I never wanted the PD, this great force, to be represented by inherited institutions. And I do not accept it even today and I would not accept such a thing even today. If this ever happened, I would go around Albania to reach it and convince people, and if I didn't convince people, I wouldn't do such a thing.
I said that there is no complex to say and do this. I think that the DP has capacities in its structures that fulfill all the criteria to do it, I am ready to support anyone but I will absolutely do everything as much as I can so that things go to the right place", he emphasized . to Maltezi.
