Austrian painter Gustav Klimt's portrait of "Lady with Refreshments" was bought for around 100 million euros at an auction held by Sotheby's in London, making it the most expensive sale ever at an auction in Europe.
After a ten-minute auction battle between four customers on the phone and in the room, the painting rose to around 100 million euros, setting a new auction record for a European work of art for Gustav Klimt.

A work on Gustav Klimt's favorite subject, the female form, "Woman with Refreshment" reflects the influence of the Japanese movement on modern art and Klimt's unique style. The painting, one of the Viennese artist's last works, was completed in 1918, the year Klimt died.
The women's wear and hand cooler also have ornate designs. The gate is also full of decorative elements and reflects the Arts and Crafts movement that emerged in England in the 19th century.
