Vienna has been rated as the best city to live in, following the decline it had at the time of the pandemic due to anti-Covid measures.
The Austrian capital held this title in 2018 and 2019 according to the list of the Economist Intelligence Unit, but was positioned in 12th place in 2021 due to the closure of restaurants and museums as a result of the pandemic.

"Stability and good infrastructure are the attraction of the city, accompanied by well-being and endless opportunities for culture and entertainment," reads this year's report according to The Independent.

Now that the city is fully open, it is back in first place leaving behind last year’s winner, Auckland. The city of New Zealand fell from first place to 34th in the 2022 report, due to anti-Covid measures.
The first 10 places in the list were mainly European countries. Canada was also part of 3 destinations like Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto. The best place to live in Britain was Manchester ranked 28th and London 33rd.
The sensational events in the world arena besides the pandemic have also affected this list, especially for Moscow and St. Petersburg, which as a result of the Russian occupation in Ukraine have dropped by 15 and 13 positions.
