Rowan Atkinson's daughter has spoken for the first time about the "darkest days" of her parents' divorce.

Lily Sastry is the youngest child of the actor best known as Mr. Bean and his ex-wife, Sunetra Sastry.

In a message on social media, she writes:

"I went through a lot of chaos and loneliness in my twenties. Now that I'm 30, I can clearly see where I was and what was going on inside me during the darkest days. I was lost and started to feel somewhat normal in my late twenties. I've always been stuck between two worlds, I don't belong here, but I don't belong there either."

She further writes: "It's hard to find out who you are when you have no friends, a broken family, and don't know how to make music and try to understand the world. It took me years to work through my issues and figure out who I am, and to become the best person I can be. I've made countless mistakes, I've been hurt, I've been lost and alone many times. Art was my guiding light. The thing that made the suffering worthwhile, as I worked towards a goal, a dream."

In addition to their daughter, Rowan Atkinson and Sunetra Sastry are also parents to a son, Benjamin Atkinson, 31.

The couple married in 1990 and separated in 2015. The BBC makeup artist filed for divorce based on Atkinson's "unreasonable behavior ," while he himself was not present during the hearing.

Shortly after the divorce was finalized, he bought a £21 million mansion in Chelsea.
