As the US presidential election approaches, fans of 'The Simpsons' have raised the issue of whether the famous series has already predicted the results of the race.
The Simpsons, the longest-running animated series in history, has earned a reputation for its uncanny ability to predict the future. Some of the scariest prophecies that have come true over the years range from AI robots taking over the world to Trump being elected president.
A number of social media users have pointed out that an episode broadcast on March 19, 2000, titled 'Bart to the Future', may have predicted the outcome of the November 5 election. One user writes:
We all know that the 'Simpsons' have this uncanny ability to predict the future. In one episode, Lisa becomes president and she mostly wears a purple suit and pearl accessories, a similar outfit Kamala Harris wore to her vice presidential inauguration. Coincidence? I think not.

At the inauguration of President Joe Biden on January 20, 2021, Harris wore a purple suit, dress designed by Christopher John Rogers with shoes designed by Sergio Hudson and a necklace by Wilfredo Rosado. In the episode where Lisa is elected president, she is seen wearing a purple suit and a pearl necklace. Lisa's presidency follows an implied presidency by Donald Trump, which caused a massive deficit. Lisa, as president in the episode, says:
As you know, we inherited a budget crisis from President Trump.
"Look at 'The Simpsons' prediction and they said something about Trump in this year of 2024 and see that Lisa Simpson became the first female president," said a third person. Although many think that 'The Simpsons' predicted Harris' victory, polls show that the Democratic candidate and Trump are very close in the polls for their race for the White House./Tar
