The cat named Reis, who walks through historical and tourist sites and the streets of Istanbul while standing on his owner's shoulders, also travels by tram and ferry.

Hakan Emrah, a fitness trainer, has been walking with his cat around Istanbul's historical and tourist sites for about three years, including the Maiden's Tower, the Hagia Sophia Mosque, and Taksim Square.

Emrah is constantly stopped by local and foreign tourists because of the cat he carries on his shoulder. Tourists who show great interest in Reis the cat cannot hide their surprise and do not forget to take pictures.

Emrah says that when he leaves his cat at home, he doesn't feel comfortable, so he thought that the cat should also go for walks with him.

Emrah says that the cat initially panicked because of the vehicles and noises, hugging its owner.

"I think Reis is the cat who knows Istanbul more than most people who live here," says Emrah, adding that "he likes to sleep on my shoulders the most during the trip."

"Because of the intense interest, sometimes I can travel a short distance for an hour or two. People's compassion for animals makes us happier. The reactions of tourists are amazing. I have seen people cry when they see Reis," he said.

Emrah says that in the future he wants to go to a match of his favorite team "Galatasaray", which he has not done so far because animals are not allowed.
