Less than a month after the tragic accident that took the life of Liverpool striker Diogo Jota, his wife Rute Cardoso has shared a touching tribute on social media.

She posted three photos from their wedding day, which she accompanied with the message: "1 month from 'till death do us part'. Forever, your white girl."

The couple were married just 11 days before the fatal accident in Spain, where Jota and his brother, André Silva, lost their lives after their car veered off the road and burst into flames. Jota, 28, had been on his way to the UK, having just had lunch with his family at a resort in Portugal.

The news shocked the football world. Thousands of fans and colleagues expressed their condolences, while Liverpool honored his memory by retiring the number 20 shirt and organizing an emotional friendly in his honor. Before the start of the match, the stadium filled with the sounds of "You'll Never Walk Alone" and a minute's silence was held for Jota and his brother.
