Mardin is one of the cities of southeastern Turkey, where the millennial history is visible in every corner.
The old stone walls resonate with conversational Arabic, Syriac, Armenian, Kurdish, Turkish, and Aramaic.

The inhabitants of the area follow ancient traditions and use regional grapes to produce wines completely different from other countries.
The ancient Arabs called this city as their home, but in the 4th century it became an important Christian settlement, created by the Syrians, where later came the Romans and Byzantines.
When Sultan Selim of the Ottoman Empire came to power in 1517, there was still a Christian population living in that city.
Today Mardin has a unique atmosphere and taste due to its different ethnic and religious backgrounds.
The mosque is a sublime architectural example from the Artukid period, while the Madrasa, a religious school, dates from 1385.
