Val Kilmer, the actor known for his iconic roles in films such as “Top Gun,” “Batman Forever,” and “Tombstone,” has died at the age of 65. His daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, announced the news in a statement to the New York Times. The cause of death was pneumonia, following a long period of health struggles.

Kilmer was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2017 and underwent a tracheotomy that completely changed his voice. Despite his health challenges, he continued to remain active in the film industry and made a major comeback in 2022, when he reprised his role as Tom “Iceman” Kazansky in Top Gun: Maverick.

One of Hollywood's most beloved figures, Kilmer has left an unforgettable legacy in international cinema.
