Can Yaman has reacted on social media following the news of his arrest. The protagonist of the series "Sandokan" has shared some photos from the Colosseum in Rome, addressing the Italian press that they should not make the same mistake as their counterparts in Turkey.
He says that if the news had been true, he would not have been released so quickly.
“Back in Rome! Dear Italian press, the Turkish press has always been mean to me, but this is nothing new! But not you! Please, do not make the mistake of copying and printing news coming from the Bosphorus. Do you think I am running around with drugs at a time when the police are conducting extensive investigations and arresting many famous people? If it were true, I would not have been released in such a short time and returned to Italy the next day. I love you.”

The Turkish actor of Albanian origin was detained on January 10 in Turkey as part of an operation for the trafficking and consumption of narcotic substances among celebrities and journalists in Istanbul.
Police carried out arrests at nine nightclubs in Istanbul, arresting several drug dealers and the managers of these outlets where narcotics were sold.
In recent weeks, over 20 celebrities from the entertainment industry have been arrested during this operation. The operations were carried out by the Office of Investigation against Smuggling, Narcotics Trafficking and Economic Crimes.
The 36-year-old was released after a few hours to continue with his full schedule.
According to Turkish media, Yaman had not been targeted for investigation, but his release was helped by the fact that toxicological tests came back clean.
In addition to the clubs, police also raided the Bebek Hotel owned by producer Muzaffer Yildirim, who has been in prison since January 5 on charges of organizing private parties where drugs were used. The raids, which also involved drug detection dogs, lasted three hours and, in addition to Yaman, actress Selen Gorguzel, former presenter Nilufer Batur Tokgoz and stars such as Ayse Saglam, Ceren Alper, Dogukan Gungor, influencer Burak Altindag and model Ceyda Ersoy were arrested.
