A Netflix reality TV model has been jailed in Britain today for trying to smuggle £150,000 of drugs into Britain on her way back from Thailand.
27-year-old Olga Bednarska was arrested last month when she was stopped at Manchester airport with two large suitcases in which around 40kg of cannabis were found.
The Manchester Evening News network wrote that the erotic model managed to escape prison with only a two-year suspended sentence after claiming the bags had been given to her by a friend called 'Tex'.
The model, who starred in the Netflix reality series, said a man had paid for her flight on the condition that she also take the suitcases of expensive clothes she was bringing from Phuket to Thailand.
The court was told that Bednarska, originally from Poland who lives in Manchester, had lived beyond her means and accumulated a debt of £16,000.
Therefore to pay for this she was forced to engage in crime, flying to Thailand to return with the ordered suitcases.
Bednarska cried in court and was consequently spared jail for tax evasion and transporting Class B drugs.
Judge John Potter gave him a 20-month suspended sentence for transporting 39.4kg of cannabis, which has a street value of around £157,600.
In addition to the suspended sentence, Bednarska was ordered to perform 15 days of rehabilitation activities, writes the Daily Mail network.
