A Brazilian man married to nine women to "promote love and challenge monogamy" has declared that he is 'grieving and surprised' as one of them is seeking a divorce.

The model, Arthur O Urso, was only married to first wife Luana Kazaki when she became a subject after exchanging vows with eight other women at a ceremony last year, which she described as a "protest against monogamy".

The service, held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, was not legal, as polygamy is banned in this country.

However, now one of the women wants to leave this union, as Arthur says, he wants it 'only for herself'.

Arthur hopes her departure will replace her with marriage to two others, to fill the 10th.
