As legal battles over reproductive rights increase across the US, a growing trend is also egg freezing.
Over 1 million frozen eggs and embryos are stored in the United States alone, according to fertility biotech company TMRW Life Sciences.
Gynecologist Shkëlqim Balili explained on the show GoodMorning Albanians that the possibility of women over 35 to get pregnant is less than those under 30.
" Some time ago I said on a TV that after 30 years we call the women who come to the hospital old, and not because of metamorphosis and physical development, but because of their reproductive ability. God has given men and women reproductive abilities and this reproductive ability in women in the embryo, when it is in the mother's womb there are 1 million and 500 eggs, when it is born there are 1 million eggs, when puberty comes until menopause begins there are 500 thousand eggs and these eggs have a menstrual cycle. That is the cycle in which an egg matures and this egg has its life of only 24 hours. And that's it when you're up to 29-30 years old, if you're over 35 years old, the egg has the shortest life, about 12 hours, so the chance to get pregnant normally is 24 or 12 hours. I have cases where they don't get pregnant and cases where 40 percent are caused by the man and 60 percent by the woman ," said the gynecologist.
