Actor Johnny Depp testified for the second day Wednesday to describe his turbulent marriage to actress Amber Heard, whom he has sued for defamation, accusing him of "insulting" that often escalated into physical violence.
"It started with a slap, with a push, with the throw ing of a TV remote in my head, throwing a glass of wine in my face," the actor told a jury in Fairfax County Court in Virginia. .
Heard has accused Depp in court documents of repeatedly assaulting her throughout their relationship, from slapping and kicking to dragging her hair across the floor and grabbing her by the throat, causing her to fear he would kill her.
But during recent years of legal wrangling in the United States and Britain, Depp has claimed that it was Amber Heard who was violent towards him. In testimony Tuesday, Depp denied ever hitting Heard or any women.
"She needs sherry, for conflict, she needs violence. It erupts into rage for nothing," Depp said.

Heard denied in court documents that she had ever struck Depp, except in self-defense, or in defense of her sister. But a wiretap was published during the hearing as she confessed to a mutual friend of the couple how she had hit the actor at the time.
Depp has sued Heard for defamation for a writing she wrote in 2018, in which she said she was a "public figure representing domestic abuse." The article did not mention Depp's name, but he testified that the time frame reference in the op-ed was clearly about their marriage, which lasted less than two years.
